On October 3–4 the BlueOrchard Impact Summit, focused on closing the investment gap in key sustainable development sectors and on unlocking the investment resources required to achieve the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, took place in Pontresina, Switzerland.

The summit was dedicated to the investment needs of the developing countries, mainly in the areas of food security, climate change mitigation, health, education, and basic infrastructure.

The event brought together public and private sector leaders from all over the world to share experiences, exchange ideas, and discuss solutions aimed at reducing today’s rising economic inequalities.

FINCA Armenia CEO Hrachya Tokhmakhyan was invited to make a presentation at the summit. He shared FINCA Armenia’s experience in contributing to increased financial inclusion, small and medium business development, and, thereby, to overall economic development in Armenia through responsible finance. Mr. Tokhmakhyan also participated in the panel discussion aimed at understanding the different aspects of inequality in emerging markets, identifying effective tools to alleviate poverty, and considering the role of impact investments and microfinance in reducing inequality and poverty.

FINCA has a firm belief that today’s decisions shape not only our future but also the future of the generations to come. This is the reason why FINCA strives to have a maximum contribution to the initiatives aimed at economic growth, elimination of poverty and inequality both in our country and throughout the world.
